Another aspect of therapy can include the establishment of a connection to the deeper personality, by becoming aware of one’s heartfelt values, needs, emotions, strengths, weaknesses, abilities, likes and dislikes. The development of self-awareness contributes to a sense of harmony with oneself and belonging and participation in the world.
In analysis, dreams, body symptoms, illnesses, patterns of relationship, and significant life events can become helpers in bringing forth what is unconscious yet of essential value to the individuation process. When deep healing resources are engaged, the self-healing tendency in the psyche leads the way to a feeling of wholeness and renewal and helps us understand our world view and deal with the world around us.
